Intro to Acting and Theater (10-day program)

This program is taught by Sanford Upper School teacher, Noel Williams. This class is specifically designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of stage acting. Students will develop essential skills in acting improvisation, visualization, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Additionally, they will acquire a robust vocabulary of theater terms. No previous acting experience is necessary, as this class is open to all students. This program is taught by Sanford Upper School teacher, Gavin Gibson. From stop-motion to video games, animation is integral to the creation of appealing and entertaining media. This animation course will educate you in the fundamentals of the craft and the technological literacy of current animation tools. By the end of this course, students will be able to 3D animate a movement sequence of their choice and learn to self-improve their own animation work for the future. Books and Nature
Dates: July 21-25, 2025 Price: $500/week
This program is taught by Sanford Lower School teacher, Laura Jezyk. Come join us for a fun-filled week of exploring nature and children’s literature. We will utilize the beautiful Sanford campus to inspire our budding artists and readers! The week will include different crafts, dramatic play, writing, storytelling, and more. It is a great way to keep your child’s mind and body active and also reinforce academic skills and their love of reading. This program runs from 9am - 12pm. Children will then eat lunch and join their Bunk in ESF's Junior Camp: Intermediate Division for remainder of the afternoon. Pickup is at 3pm.Creative Writing (10-day program)

This program is taught by Sanford Upper School teacher, Mike Symons. Whether you're interested in journaling, novel writing, or curious to explore the power of the written word, this course will give you a chance to explore your unique voice on the page! Students will engage in all aspects of the writing process, from creative spark to publication submission! In this seminar-style writing workshop, students will keep a notebook where they respond to creative prompts and free-writes, eventually developing their favorites into complete poems and stories. They will both share their work and receive feedback as a writer and read the work of their peers and offer feedback as an editor. After only two weeks, students leave the course with a creative writing portfolio ready to be submitted for writing contests and publication! *Sanford Students are required to attend all classes if they wish to receive school credit. English Enrichment – 8th Grade

This program is taught by Sanford Middle School teacher, Chris Keiser. Get ready for an exciting week of activities and assignments that will take your reading and writing skills to the next level! Immerse yourself in captivating short stories handpicked by your teacher, and dive into your own choice reads to enhance comprehension and literary analysis. Explore the texts, find deeper meaning, and make personal connections that will broaden your perspective. Get your creative juices flowing with fun writing exercises and thought-provoking prompts in your composition journal. Master the art of paragraph writing, setting the stage for stellar essay writing in eighth grade. This course is your ticket to developing essential skills for a successful journey through eighth-grade English. This program runs from 9am - 12pm. This summer health course, taught by Sanford Upper School teacher Alaina Schumann, focuses on wellness and the concept of health as a continuum. Throughout the program, students will explore various topics, including the history of diseases, communicable and chronic illnesses, mental health, and other current health issues. Sanford students are required to attend all classes to receive school credit. Please note: Students who attend Health Session I do not need attend Health Session II. This program is taught by Sanford School teacher, Clint Williams. Nervous to speak in front of a group? Want to become more comfortable presenting and performing? Well if so, this class was designed for you! Students will gain skills in acting, improvisation, visualization, breathing, and relaxation, as well as a working vocabulary of theater terms. Additionally, students will learn valuable public speaking skills in a safe space where they are free to learn the proper way to combat nerves that may impede successful speaking in front of groups of people. This program runs from 9am - 12pm. Children will then eat lunch and join their group in ESF's Senior Camp for remainder of the afternoon. Pickup is at 3pm.
Math Enrichment – PreAlgebra
Dates: August 4-8, 2025 Price: $500/week
This program is taught by Sanford Middle School teacher, Sophie Weber. Games and daily challenges will make this program a winner for all who attend. This program will focus on the order of operations, fractions and decimals, calculating probability and percent, and obtaining a deeper knowledge of algebraic expressions. Students will dive right into problem-solving techniques to explore all that math has to offer. Get ready to have fun while strengthening your math skills! *This class is intended for incoming 7th and 8th graders who are getting ready to take or who have just completed Pre-Algebra. Students enrolled in this course have NOT completed Algebra I. This program runs from 9am - 12pm. SAT Math
Dates: July 7-11, 2025 Price: $425/week
This program is taught by Sanford Upper School teacher, Lizzy Lancellotti. Join us for a comprehensive SAT Math course where you will learn various problem-solving techniques tailored to the SAT. Our focus will be on analyzing common mistakes, developing effective test-taking strategies, and reviewing relevant material based on individual sample test results. This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel on the SAT.
